Sharon W. Huget is a Canadian visual artist. Working in acrylic and mixed media, she creates contemporary compositions that are abstractions of both the real and imagined. Through the use of colour, texture and graphite renderings, her paintings suggest the uncertain interception of human experience with what is unknown, allusive and transcendent.
Influenced by natural and architectural forms, the incomplete structures and markings allude to distant places and times both unknown and yet familiar. The evocative visual narrative remains obscure, inviting viewers to explore with attentive contemplation.
In collaboration with other artists and clients, SWHuget ART & DESIGN creates custom printed textiles from original artworks and personal artifacts for luxury home design and clothing. Proudly Canadian, her home and clothing designs are ethically manufactured on demand in Canada.
Sharon W. Huget lives in Abbotsford, BC Canada. She is involved in her community as an artist, designer and educator. Her paintings are in private and public collections in Canada and Europe. She has exhibited at The Federation of Canadian Artists Gallery on Granville Island (Vancouver), Silk Gallery (Port Moody), and in numerous public gallery spaces. Sharon has been honoured four times to exhibit as part of the prestigious, biannual Fraser Valley Biennale exhibition at The Reach Gallery Museum. Her paintings have been showcased among other designers and artists at IDS Vancouver, Western Canada's premier interior design show. Through her art practice, she has supported the work of Abbotsford Hospice, The Reach Gallery Museum, Run for Water, Crystal Gala Foundation, Vancouver Union Gospel Mission and Canuck Place Children's Hospice Abbotsford.
